Diacereína 50 mg, Cápsulas

Diacedar® is a medicine formulated for the symptomatic treatment of knee and hip osteoarthritis. It is scientifically proven to slow down the progression of osteoarthritis.

Diacedar® is prescribed for long-term pain relief, and for treating the swelling caused by ostheoartritis, rheumatoid arthritis, degenerative articular disease, and related ailments.

  • Contains Diacerein, an anthraquinone derivative with a moderate anti-inflammatory activity, with no side effects on the stomach.
  • Available in 30- and 50-capsule boxes.
  • Recommended dosage: 2 capsules of Diacedar® every day; 1 intake during the morning and 1 intake at night. (Except on patients with severe kidney failure, where the dosage should be reduced in half).

Dosage and administration method

Oral administration. Only for adults (15 and older). The recommended dosage consists of 2 capsules of Diacedar® per day, the first intake during the morning and the second one at night.

There’s no need to modify the dosage in elderly patients, nor in patients with moderate kidney failure. In patients with severe kidney failure (creatinine clearance < 30 ml/min), the dosage should be reduced in half.

Capsules are to be swallowed as they come out from the package, without opening them, and with a glass of water, preferably during breakfast and dinner.

Note: Delayed reaction. The 30- to 45-day delay for the buildup of the analgesic effect could require starting the treatment using normal analgesics/anti-inflammatory drugs, which provide an immediate relief.
